The documentary 'Le stagioni di Adolf Vallazza', curated by Carmela Marsibilio, will be screened in the cellar of the "Casa della Pesa" on the afternoon of the 15th of December 2023 from 5.30 pm. This will be a special opportunity to explore topics related to the life and artistic career of Adolf Vallazza, who will be present together with the audience. Please note that before the screening of the documentary, at 4.30 p.m. at the Eccel Kreuzer Museum, the curator of the exhibition "Adolf Vallazza. A century of art", Sara Alberti, will conduct a guided tour that will illustrate the themes of the exhibition.

This year's temporary exhibition at the Eccel Kreuzer Museum, 'Adolf Vallazza. A Century of Art' is dedicated to the Val Gardena´s artist Adolf Vallazza; with various sculptures and drawings tracing the artist's career from the 1970s to 2014, the MEK pays tribute to him. Tomorrow at 5.30 p.m., the curator Sara Alberti will conduct a special guided tour to explore topics related to the artist and the exhibition. The guided tour will be in Italian and German. Long Night of the Museums of Bolzano
The museums of Bolzano open their doors for the "Long Night of the Museums of Bolzano" and invite you to a voyage of discovery through history, nature and art from 4 pm to 1 am. In the Eccel Kreuzer Museum, guided tours of the permanent exhibition are offered in German and Italian. On the ground floor, the special exhibition "Adolf Vallazza. Opening temporary exhibition "Adolf Vallazza. A century of art"
Adolf Vallazza (Ortisei, 1924) is the protagonist of this anthological exhibition. It is reserved for a selection of the most significant works from the artist's long artistic career. The exhibition aims to highlight Adolf Vallazza's versatility and originality, retracing the essential and decisive stages that made him one of the most appreciated artists on the contemporary Italian art scene. On display are works that were created between 1970 and 2014. An important lapse of time that gives the viewer the opportunity to observe how the art of the Gardena artist has evolved over time. Free museum admission with abo+!
From the 17th of June to the 4th of September 2023 the initiative to attract young people to museums returns to South Tyrol. Pupils, students and apprentices in possession of a valid abo+ ticket will be able to visit more than 40 museums and exhibition venues throughout the province of Bozen free of charge. Most of the participating museums can be reached using the public transport - therefore, using the abo+. At the MEK you can visit the temporary exhibition 'Grand Tour. A journey through landscape painting'!

Adolf Vallazza "Forme e Movimento" book presentation
On Friday 9 June at 5 p.m. at the Eccel Kreuzer Museum, the new volume entitled 'Forms and Movement' will be presented. The book presents a series of sculptures created by Adolf Vallazza (Ortisei 1924) between 1980 and 2015. The book will be presented by Maurizio Scudiero, author and art critic. Emanuel Valentin, director of the Fortress and the Eccel Kreuzer Museum, and the publisher, Giuseppe Pellegrinon, will also speak. Admission is free.

International Museum Day – Open Day
This year's International Museum Day is all about sustainability. We have put together a great programme for young and old to get this important message across. In collaboration with the artist Emmanuelle Sigal there will be an educational collage workshop on the theme of "Grand Tour" in the rooms of the temporary exhibition. The band Nik Lee and the Marcos will make people dance with their explosive mix of blues, rhythm and blues and swing. On the occasion of Paul Flora's 100th Anniversary, the Eccel Kreuzer Museum pays a tribute to one of South Tyrol's best-known artistic personalities. Alongside Flora are works by Fritz v. Herzmanovsky Orlando, Othmar Winkler, Max Spielmann, Jakob de Chirico, Daniela Chinellato, Laurina Paperina, Federico Lanaro, as well as an unusual and surprising Karl Plattner. Each artist interprets disparate themes with irony, sarcasm and biting criticism, all seemingly innocuous. Curated by Sara Alberti.

Hans Ebensperger - Temporary exhibition 04.10.2021 - 30.01.2022
Hans Ebensperger came from Prad am Stilfser Joch. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1948 to 1952 and subsequently worked as a freelance artist in Merano. Ebensperger’s work is characterized by an intensive examination of the landscape of his homeland. His final solo exhibition was in 1971 in the Fr. Eccel Art Gallery, which was located in the building that is now the Eccel Kreuzer Museum. 50 years after his death we would like to honor the friendship that Ebensperger shared with the Eccel and Kreuzer Families with another exhibition. Curated by Sara Alberti.
